Paramore BNE tour 10-10-09

Ok, I'm finally posting my story because it's Friday and there's no school! Woot! Thank God finals are over.

So we took the train to Chicago and got there at around 2-3 ish? So we had hot dogs at this one place inside and it was kind of funny because the dude working there didn't know what a cheese dog was and the lady's like "QUESO!" haha. Anyway, after that we get outside and start looking for Dearborn. Never doing that again because it was SO FREAKING COLD! We were just walking around in the wrong direction, asking people, like, we asked this one guy and turns out he was from Australia. He's just like, "No sorry, I'm from Australia." or other people would be like, "No, I'm not familiar with the city." so then we asked this one guy and he told us that we had to walk alllll the way down like 6 blocks so we did. Took us like 30 minutes and I thought I was gonna die because it was so cold. Next time, we're taking a cab. So I took a picture by the bridge by the HOB really quick and then we got in line but we didn't see it at first so we kept walking and I could see the M&G people waiting and walking a little more and there was the line so we waited. Some dude was selling hot cocoa while we were waiting, so me and mom got some. Waited for 2 hours and had to wait an additional ten minutes, so we got inside when it was like, 6:40 and we saw the blanets and stuff from the people who waited from like, 6 in the morning. I salute you. And, because I've never been to HOB before, I thought they were gonna take away my camera 'cause on the ticket, it says "No cameras." so I started to get nervous. But they just scanned my ticket and I walked up stairs (it was painful from standing straight up for 2 hours) and the floor was already, like full! I was like, WTF?! Turns out, if you ate at the restaurant, you got in first so I was like, "This sucks." So we ended up going to the right on Jeremy and Taylor's side and I ended up literally right next to the speaker and mom was right on the stairs to the bar. I ended up by some nice people, like Danielle from PFC :) and this girl Lea and her friend. They were playing Phoenix's version of Long Distance Call while we were waiting for The Swellers to come on and I was like, "Hey this is the song that they covered!" haha
The Swellers came on first, they were pretty good and so were Paper Route. I wasn't really paying that much attention to them because I was just so anxious for Paramore to come on haha! And when they did it was amazing. My right got blasted out but that ok, haha! The new intro was amazing! Kind of pissed though that I couldn't get the whole thing of it because Andew (tour manager) was coming through and made me accidently press the button to stop recording. And that and security and photographers coming through every five minutes and it was so freaking irritating!!! I had to like, move into the little corner by the garbage can!! But once Paramore was on, they didn't really come through that much. Man, the crowd was rough, there was a lot of pushing from what I could see. And it was cool because when we all jumped, the floor like, moved it was awesome! They were just amazing and it was so surreal to be that close to them because the other 2 times I've seen them were in seats far away. This time I could see like, their facial expressions and Hayley came to our side a few times too. They played Conspiracy and I Caught Myself and the Miracle outro which were amazing! Misguided Ghosts was good too, really beautiful song! They played BBBB last and it was fun, the guys from the Swellers and Paper Route came out. Then the show was over and I wanted to get merch, but then over the loud speaker the girl was like, "Oh the HOB is closed blah blah." and when we went to go ask someone, they were like, "Oh, they closed merch." and I was like :( I wanted the tour T-shirt. But oh well, maybe they'll end up having them up on the webstore when the tour's over. So we took a cab back to the train station and there was some black dudes that kept calling us "baby girl." and asking if we wanted change or something so we just walked inside and then we had to wait until 12:25 for the train because the one at 11 somehow dissappeared from the list so we just waited. I saw these 2 girls walk by and they had Paramore stuff on and they were like, "Whoo Paramore!" and I was like, "They were good, huh?" and they were like, "Oh, you went too?" and I said yeah and they sat by us and we were talking about how awesome the show is. So when they left we got up and went to go to where the train was and mom asked the conductor guy if that was the right train and he was like, "Yeah, you better hurry up!" and we're like, walking really fast/I'm running and we get on. We almost missed it! So basically we didn't end up getting home until like, 2 in the morning, haha. But it was an awesome concert!

So I went to the Brand New Eyes listening party at Hot Topic. So it was me and mom and the kids and some other kids and OMG it was AMAZING! I walked around for a bit around the store and then I just sat down and listened. Some of the kids seemed to know about Paramore so that was cool but I didn't talk to them, haha...idk just didn't feel quite apart of it.

Seriously, they've grown SO MUCH from AWKIF and RIOT! It makes me so happy! <3

Here's my review on the songs:

1. Careful- I thought it was REALLY weird to hear actual lyrics to the song because I've only been listening to the instrumental for the past like, month so it's still getting some used to.

2. Ignorance- Love it, already know that.

3. Playing God- I thought this song was going to be more heavier because of the lyrics, you know? It kinda sounds like "I Don't Hook Up" by Kelly Clarkson, haha. But I like it, though.

4. Brick By Boring Brick- Love BBBB!

5. Turn It Off- idk, I still have to listen to this a few more times to think...

6. The Only Exception- I love it. It's really beautiful.

7. Feeling Sorry- still have to listen to this one a couple more times also

8. Looking Up- I like it a lot. Really upbeat-ish.

9. Where The Lines Overlap- Love WTLO. Really happy.

10. Misguided Ghosts- I like this one a lot. It's really pretty.

11. All I Wanted- I LOVE this one! Hayley's range is incredible and it's such a good song!

No Doubt/Paramore Tinley Park 2009

Ok, so I'm finally going to post my M&G story/Tinley Park review. It's long and detailed so be warned.

   Me and my mom drove to Tinley Park and got there at like, 4:30. Since we were there kinda early, we went to get something to eat, so we went to Burger King and then we drove back to the amphitheatre. We were in this huge line but none of the cars were moving so my mom decided to get out of the line and she pulled next to some car and she asked some lady if she knew where to go for the M&G, but she didn't know, so we did a U-Turn and went to ask some guy who worked there where we had to go, and it turns out that we had to go, like, all the way around the whole amphitheatre. While we were at a red light, I saw these 2 guys riding their bikes and one of them looked like Brandon and I was like, "Is that Brandon?", but my mom wasn't paying attention. So we finally got to the general parking entrance, parked and got inside. I saw the box office and got my wristband and info. for where to go and then we walked to Gate 3 and waited in line.
   So, after a while Will told us to follow him so we left and my mom went to go wait in the main line. He stopped us in front of this brown fence and then he started talking about what to do and what not to do, but I wasn't paying attention because I was talking to these 2 awesome girls that I met and then, we finally got in. And I felt a rush of nerves hit me as we walked into where all the tour buses where parked, but I was excited too. We all got in a line and Andrew told us to put our cameras away because we would take pictures later. So we were standing there and then they all came out and I was squeeing on the inside, haha. Josh came first and I was like, really nervous and my voice was all shaky and I said "Hi" (well, that's technically what I said to all of them) They signed this like, folder thing and on the inside, it has the picture of them on the cover of Billboard magazine inside and he's like, "Where do you want me to sign?" and I'm like, "Oh, anywhere." so he signed his name and under that he put, "Word" and he said it in this really cute voice :D. Next was Taylor and he's just so adorable and smiling and he signed his name and then Zac was next and he saw the picture and pointed to himself in the Christmas tree outfit and he's like, "Hey, that's me." Hayley came next and she's so pretty in person (they're all beautiful in person! haha) and she's so nice! She signed and then she saw the picture and she's like, "I love that picture. I can't wait for it to come out." and last was Jeremy and he signed and then he's like, "Oh, you have that picture already?" and I'm like, "Yeah, somebody posted in on Livejournal and I just printed it out." and he's like, "Yeah, we just did that photoshoot like, a week ago." While they were signing, my hand was like, shaking and I thought I was gonna cry because I was happy and just emotional, I guess, but I didn't. I saw Brandon filming us and I was like, "I knew I saw him!" and he made them go in a line and he was just filming them walking toward the camera, being goofy. I was thinking that maybe he's recording stuff for the DVD that comes with the Deluxe BNE but idk... when they were getting ready to take group pictures, Jeremy was all the way at the end of the line and Josh was like, "Hey! We gotta take pictures!" and Jeremy did this little move thing, it was funny. There were some little girls there and I thought that was a little strange.
   When it was my turn, I went in between Josh and Hayley and they put their arms around me and inside I was like ":D". I look ugly in the picture, though :/ When Will was done taking my picture, I sort of was going back to my place and he still had my camera and he gave it to me and I'm like "Thanks." I was embarrased, haha. Then we just had time to talk to them and I was just kinda standing there, watching everybody talking and I took a random picture of Hayley. So then me and this other girl that I met went to go over by Josh and we were watching him take pictures with the other people and then I took her picture and she took mine and when he put his arm around me, I was like, screaming in my head. Haha, sorry I just love Josh! :D And he told me that he liked my shirt! And I was like, "Thanks!" and he's like, "What's on it?" and I told him that it's LOVE with hands. Then we decided to go over to Taylor, but then all of the little girls were like, "Bye Hayley!" and I was like, "What, huh?!". They were leaving already so that was kind of a bummer because I wanted to get pictures with all of them, but just to meet them and be like, face-to-face with them and to see them smiling and happy to see us is just amazing and I'm so grateful that I got a chance to experience meeting Paramore.

   After that, I went to get in line to get signed and the guy that was checking the tickets was like, "Oh, we have to take all the gifts to the band after the show" or whatever and I'm like, "Oh, no, this isn't a gift for the band. I just came back from a meet and greet with Paramore and this just has their autographs in it." and the girl next to him opened it and she's like, "Oh, well that's different. You can have it then." and I'm just like "Mm-hmm." and went inside. I found my mom and she got a pretzel and then we went inside. We were in the seats, in Section 104 so it wasn't too bad so while we were waiting for Bedouin Soundclash I was just showing her my stuff. Then Bedouin Soundclash came on. They were okay, I was just more excited for Paramore to come on. And when they did, I stood up and cheered and a lot of other people did too. Except the only bad thing was that there were these REALLY TALL No Doubt fans in front of me that stood up during Paramore and No Doubt's set and I couldn't see that good so I moved down our row because it was like empty and the other bad thing is that the zoom on my camera isn't that great when you're far away from the stage. I was singing and dancing to all their songs, including Ignorance and Where The Lines Overlap, except I felt kind of awkward because I feel like I was the only one really into it. The best song of the set was Let The Flames Begin. That song is just emotional and powerful and I think that Hayley being hoarse made it all more powerful and amazing! They didn't play Decoy because, like I said, Hayley was hoarse during the set and she sounded a little hoarse during the M&G. Then the people that weren't in their seats came when they were playing Decode so I had to go back to my mom and then their set was over and we were waiting for No Doubt.
   Waiting for No Doubt seemed like forever, but as soon as the lights went down and the Star Wars-like music started to play, everybody stood up and were cheering so loud! I made my mom record No Doubt so that I could sing and dance, haha. It was so much fun and Gwen said that we were the loudest show on the tour so far, so that was awesome and during Just A Girl when she made all that guys sing it, she was like, "Wow. Normally, I would say that was shit, but tonight that was actually pretty good." haha And when we sang it, she said we were "mind-blowing." And let me go out and say that Gwen Stefani is FREAKING RIPPED!!! :O Geez, that woman does not even look like she had 2 kids, with her 6-pack. Their set was AMAZING!! And I'm proud to say that I've become a No Doubter now, thanks to the catalog of music! :) I loved the different backgrounds for the songs, those were so cool! My throat hurt from singing/screaming loud/a lot and my legs hurt stretching on my tipie-toes to see but it was amazing night and probably one of the best concerts I've been to in my life.

I haven't hugged someone spontaneously but I hugged someone who I didn't really know that well.
But after seeing that video, I'm really excited about Free Hug Day because it's really good to know that even though people are strangers that someone is willing enough to at least give you a hug, which shows that someone cares, someone that doesn't even know you and I will probably be doing it. :)

I think for me, tbqh, I'd like to be more comfortable...because for me, I don't really care about fashion..well I mean, I buy stuff that I like and not because of what people are gonna say because people don't really talk about what I wear anyway (or maybe they do, just behind my back, haha idk, I'm not popular, I'm just a normal person, I guess..maybe a little weird to people but..yeah..)

So...my first post! This is exciting! Well, I can't believe only 4 MORE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! EEP! Well, I didn't really do anything interesting today. Just be on my laptop (which I <3) and listen to Paramore! Erm, So I guess that's all.... Bye!
